Kayak & Paddleboard Rental Kiosks

Our watersports equipment rental kiosks work like kayak and paddleboard vending machines. The rack on the back of the machine holds the kayaks and paddleboards. The lockers on the front have life vests and paddles. Electronic locks keep everything secure. Customers rent and return kayaks/paddleboards via a QR code and their smart device, without the need for an attendee. The machines are entirely solar-powered and connect to the strongest cell signal in the area. Think “Citi Bike for paddling.”

Kiosks 101

  • Power: Kiosks are solar-powered and are equipped with a 4G encrypted telemetry system to connect with the strongest cell signal in the area.

    Payment: Payment is completed via a customer’s mobile device via credit, debit, Apple Pay, or Paypal.

    1. Scan the QR code posted on the kiosk with your smart device

    2. Select your desired kayak or paddleboard and the rental duration

    3. Agree to the waiver and rental terms

    4. Complete checkout

    5. The electronic locker(s) and lanyard lock(s) automatically pop open

    6. Retrieve PFD(s) and paddle(s) from the locker, and kayak or paddleboard from the rack

    7. Close locker door(s) and relock lanyards

    8. Put on your lifejacket(s)

    9. Enjoy the great outdoors!

    1. Click the return link texted to you or scan the QR code on the kiosk

    2. Follow on-screen instructions, vessel lanyard lock will open

    3. Return kayak/paddleboard to proper slot and close lanyard lock

    4. Submit a photo of the returned vessel and report any damage

    5. Scan QR code again, locker will open

    6. Return lifevest(s) and paddle(s)

    7. Submit a photo of locker contents

    8. All set!

  • Kiosks come in 4-slot, 8-slot, and 12-slot sizes.

    • 4-Slot Kiosk Dimensions: 5’ x 5’4”

    • 8-Slot Kiosk Dimensions: 10’ x 8’8”

    • 12-Slot Kiosk Dimensions: 15’ x 12’

    Locker Unit Size: 5’ wide & 2’ deep

    Rack Unit: 3’4” in length and width

  • Our all steel-constructed watersports equipment rental kiosks can be installed easily by bolting them to the ground, cement, or asphalt.

  • Kiosks can hold all kinds of watersports equipment. We typically utilize single kayaks, tandem kayaks, and paddleboards.

  • Our remote operation system allows for our kiosks to be operated remotely. Anytime human intervention is needed (Ex: Customer locks wallet in locker) we can take control of the kiosk via computer or mobile phone.

Watersports Equipment Rental Kiosk FAQ

  • They are charged for the next largest rental time slot. (Ex: If a customer rents for 2 hours but keeps the kayak for 3 hours, they will be charged the 4-hour rental price)

  • If any equipment is not returned within 24 hours, the customer will be charged for the full replacement cost of that equipment.

  • No, there is a credit card processor only to deter theft.

  • The watersports equipment rental kiosks can hold most kinds of watersports equipment including single kayaks, tandem kayaks, and paddleboards.
